How Can You Help Your Local?
(11-30-02)
After labor’s endorsed candidates lost most of the
2002 elections, union people expect difficulties ahead. But America’s wage
earners won everything they have today in even worse times. Nobody ever gave us
anything!
The key to union success, then and now, was in our
volunteer efforts. Here are a few suggestions:
Wear your union colors
Ask President Giesecke about one of the Standing
Committees
Attend union meetings and events
Talk to the nonmembers in your workplace about
joining
Look for organizing opportunities in workplaces of
your friends and neighbors
Register family, friends, and neighbors to vote
Make sure the union knows your phone number and
e-mail (click here for feedback)
