848 Members Are Not Alone

If Local 848 members have to go into battle, we won't be by ourselves. Unions and public figures are starting to contact our union with messages of support. By telephone, our local received solidarity messages from Jim McCasland, principal officer of the Dallas AFL-CIO, from IATSE (stage handlers) Local 127, and from Congressman Martin Frost, who said,

“The men and women who work at Vought build the defense products that keep us safe. They deserve our utmost respect and support”

Dear Members,

Today I stand with you in your upcoming negotiations with Vought.

Throughout our modern history it has been the men and women of labor unions who have gone to work every day to make our nation stronger and more secure. It is men and women like you who make America the strongest and most free nation on the planet. It is you who make sure that the men and women of the military have the finest equipment in the world.

I am ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in these negotiations. I stand prepared to be out on a picket line with you should the need arise, just as I did with the C.W.A. in their recent strike against S.B.C. Once in Washington, I will continue the fight for labor unions in the halls of Congress. Unlike my opponent, I will fight to strengthen workers' rights - not fight to dismantle them at every opportunity.

In these negotiations you have my full support and my prayers for a speedy and successful completion. With leadership like President Giescke's, I am confident the end result will be in the best interest of all of you.

God bless and God speed in these negotiations. Please contact me at anytime at (817) 795-3642. I am here to assist you in anyway I can.

Yours in Solidarity,

Morris Meyer, Candidate for Congress
