Local 848's Civil Rights Committee set up a celebration for Latino Culture after our Membership Meeting on September 19. We had a terrific cookout in the Local's parking lot. The plans were made at our monthly Civil Rights Committee meeting on the first Thursday at 4:30 PM. All members are invited to these meetings.
We were honored to have State Representative Roberto Alonzo, who represents the district where the union hall is located. He also sent a letter of encouragement for our local. It is reprinted below. After that is a photo of Brother Alonzo talking to Brother Alex Contreras.
