Texas CAP Meets

Local 848 delegates joined the UAW's main Texas political meeting on November 6-8 at the Airport Hyatt hotel in Austin. The first order of business was conducted by UAW Region 5 Director Jim Wells. He chaired the nomination and election of new officers.

All were elected without opposition. Local 848's First Vice President, Romeo Munoz, took the Vice Presidency for Dallas County. The other officers are:

JB Brown, President; Marc House, VP Tarrant County; Dennis Anderson, Rec Sec;
Kirk Tiner, Fin Sec; Deno Castillo, Guide; Glen Wilkins, Sgt at Arms;
3 Trustees: Jerry Miller, Jimmy Greene, Darrell Shepard
4 members at large: Tom King, Jesse Rodriguez, David Clemons, Juan Silva

Director Jim Wells launched into a strong political talk about what has happened to American working people and what has to be done.
