Remember Cesar Chavez!

Union members are encouraged to participate in the annual Cesar Chavez Parade and Fiesta in Ft Worth on March 27. According to Brother Gerardo Contreras, we meet on Jones Street at the intersection of 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd downtown at 11 AM. The event will mark a continous observance of Cesar Chavez’ birthday, March 31, in North Texas for the past several years.

Several unions commit to participating every year. Contreras has indicated that there may be a small celebration in the Farmers’ Market in Dallas, where the City put a plaque dedicated to Chavez.

Another upcoming event will be Workers Memorial Day, April 28, when we remember workers who have been killed or injured on the job.
