Texas Unions Prepare for 2005 Legislative Session

Union leaders from all over the state gathered in Austin November 15-16 to prepare for the opening of the Texas legislature January 11. They are asking all unionists to stand together on the important issues affecting our lives.

During the session, union representatives will meet each mornning at the Texas AFL-CIO headquarters under the auspices of the United Labor Legislative Committee (ULLCO). They will discuss upcoming legislation and strategies to help pass good legislation and block bad bills.

During the process, they will be attempting to reach all union members for help with particular politicians on particular issues. For that reason, they want everybody to sign up for their lightning-fast e-activist network by going to www.unionvoice.org/texasaflcio. People can also sign up through feedback to this web page.
