I would like to begin by welcoming all of our new members to UAW Local 848.
Local 848 has an outstanding history of serving the aerospace industry workers
well. Our local still is among the leaders in local unions for getting acceptable
contracts for all our members and helping create a workplace
where employees have improved working conditions, safety standards, and some
of the best jobs in the aerospace industry.
I must say that, with the constant attacks on all unions by the corporate world, with lobbying and proposed legislation aimed at ridding us of all our many gains over the last century and pushing to cripple all unions in their plight to Protect , Preserve, Represent, and continue making gains which benefit our members, we must all act now to take a very serious look at the political scene and begin supporting those representatives who still see working people as the foundation for a solid economy, and uphold those laws which were created to protect us.
The longer we all wait to get on board, the better chance we have of being left behind, or being left out completely, concerning what is best for our current and future needs as well as our decent lifestyles.
Help us help you by realizing what is at stake and becoming one who will work to protect our interest.
