“Lights, Camera, Action!”

I have enjoyed the member interest stories that the Aerospacer has been publishing as of late. It fascinates me that such a collection of talent has come together at our local. We have pro football, national collegiate championship soccer, and a member who is making his own feature length film.

Local 848’s Jared Christopher is in the process of completing his first feature length movie. The title is “White Washed.” I was astounded that Jared has been able to finance this film from his entry-level wages at Vought. You hear of all these movies with multi-million dollar budgets, but his expenditures have been less than the “Blair Witch Project.”

Jared has had to be creative. For example, Jared was able to purchase his expensive camera and sound equipment with $4,500 he received on a cash-back offer on his auto financing. Most car dealers assume you are going to apply that money to your car!

Jared has assembled the crew that complemented his talent and understood the financial restraints. His cast consists of actors that have bought into his script. Ryan Hurst, an Actor’s Guild member, is the lead actor.
Jared’s script took three weeks to write. He notes that some sleepless nights went into his first script. His crew and cast have had a total buy-in to his creative concepts. The movie is slated to be completed in early September, with the premier scheduled for September 10th at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas. Admission is free to the public if they RSVP.

Jared considers the movie a drama with some language, substance use, and mild violence. Visit the movie website at www.whitewashed.com.

Jared’s production group, Underdog Productions, can be reached at underdogproductions@gmail.com. Jared’s next project is an interesting story about one of 848’s own: Kelly Malone. Kelly was a Chairman of our local during the 70’s. I can’t wait to see that effort!
