Dear UAW 848,

I see that Vought is willing to reconsider its "best and final" offer. Congratulations. Your solidarity is paying off.

What happens at Vought will have an impact on all working people. If you hang tough and stop the company's attempt to squeeze more profit from the work that you do, it will encourage others of us to fight back against corporate America's attacks on working America. Keep up the good work and know that you are not alone.
In solidarity,
Will H. Rogers
Texas State Employees Union / CWA 6186

Sisters and Brothers of UAW Local 848:

As Texas State President of Labor Council for Latin American Advancement and IUE/CWA LOCAL 780 in San Antonio Texas, we stand in Solidarity with all of you in your Local's struggle to obtain a fair and just collective bargaining contract for the workers you represent. As a member of the IUE labor movement for approx. 38 years and having negotiated a many of Union contracts and some that resulted in Strikes not because the workers like strikes, but because the companies were not negotiating in good faith which resulted in Unfair labor practice strikes.

Today employers want givebacks and try to defeat the workers with intimidation, threats, and and other unlawful acts to discourage their unionism and solidarity, but there is no question in my heart and the hearts of the workers that are committed to justice on the job, we will win ! We must stand together and talk to each worker at the union meeting or one on one, time after time until victory is achieved. I stand with all of you and I want you to know that all of the Labor, social action community organizations that work with me will join me! SI SE PUEDE !

In Unity;

Jaime P. Martinez, Pres.
Texas Labor Council for Latin American Advancement
IUE Local 780 ( San Antonio, Texas)

Dear Friends at UAW 848,

I commend you for your leadership as you progress through your contract negotiations.

Over the course of the past year, I have had the chance to visit with each of you about the issues that are important to you. I am impressed by your dedication, energy and courage in keeping Texas jobs in Texas.

I regret that your negotiations for better health care and better wages have given you no choice but to vote to strike. I hope that you will quickly reach a satisfactory agreement so that a strike may be avoided.

Best wishes to you. Know that you have my support.

Sincerely,

Katy Hubener, Candidate for the Texas House of Representatives, District 106, Grand Prairie and Irving
