Local 848's Christmas party on December
17 exceeded any since the big layoffs of 1993. New, younger members brought
so many children that the hall was packed!
Fortunately,
our Recreation Committee Chair, Cynthia Ehrichsen and her committee, Erica Rogers
and Jessica Rodriguez, were more than up to the task! President Splawn and his
family lent a lot of support. Vice Presidents Romeo Munoz and Jeff Benge pitched
in as well.
The
children had all the sweets they could eat, balloons, puppets, a magician, wrapped
presents, and a chance to talk with the authentic Santa Claus. Claus was brought
to our local by his close friend, Brother Chris Culton of the Lockheed unit.
Santa himself drew the tickets for door prizes at the end.
